Sorry I Wished

I was surfing the web this morning, as I always am, and I came across this photo. It was actually taken by an amateur photographer who I used to go to school with. He’s just a year older than me, and I had no idea he was into photography.

Anyway, I found this image and it got me thinking. If and when I post SIW on inkpop, I’m going to need a cover image. I wanted it to be meaningful, but I wasn’t sure how to capture the plot of the story and the title in one image.

When I found this, a whole jumble of ideas flooded my mind (Oh, that was a good description on my part). I did a little fooling around with it on Picnik, and I came up with this.

To me, it looks like the boy in the picture is thinking about something important,  maybe even regretting something. And the words–the font–I felt like they were fuzzy, and maybe such as on TV where the words are blinking or moving back and forth due to bad reception. Does that make sense? Probably not.

I just wanted to post this and get some feedback. It’s definitely not final, and I might find something I like better in the future. But right now, I’m really liking this cover photo.

  1. FREAK.

This is ridiculous. I was just looking at Drew’s portfolio the other day and goodness, does that boy have an eye.
You picked one of my personal favorites of his. I love when he photographs himself; it’s always his best work.
You did a lovely job editing it too, darling. Cheers to you and see you in two days!
